This 2.5 hour session is designed to be a taster class to familiarise yourself with fundamental ceramics techniques.

 

Choose the Wheel-Throwing Workshops if you would like to try the basics of throwing.

You will be shown how to centre your clay and be given assistance with this fundamental technique. You will be shown how to make a basic cylinder and/or a bowl form on the wheel. At the end of the lesson you will choose your favourite piece to have fired. All materials and firing costs are included.

Choose a Hand-Building workshop to have a go at slab-building your own mug.

You will learn how to prepare your slab, cut your pieces and assemble them well. You will then refine your pot and potentially add a handle, or experiment with texture and surface decoration to make your mug truly one-of-a-kind. For this one-off class all materials and firing costs are included.
