Following our social event, we would like to invite you to a special Large Scale Sculpture & Surface Decorating Workshop at Culford Studios on Saturday 31st of August.

Led by artist Phoebe Collings-James, this workshop will give an insight into their multivalent sculpture practice.

As a group, participants will work on the construction of a large sculpture at different stages in its development - starting the construction off, auxiliary sections, structural supports. Using various traditional pottery techniques there will also be a chance to explore surface decoration and embellishment.

Ideas around approaches to ceramic sculpture will be introduced through conversation, with a focus on the different ways artists choose to 'build' in ceramic. And throughout the workshop there will be opportunities to ask questions and receive practical demonstration of the answers, so please come prepared with any queries or curiosities.
