We are super excited to have Tair Almor at our social on  4th April where she will take us through the process of transforming inspiration into tangible creations within the realm of ceramic craft.

Taïr Almor is a multidisciplinary practitioner, delving into ceramics, art, design, academia, and research. Her work focuses on merging traditional crafts with modern technology and industrial methods, while also examining the relationship between design and socio-political, environmental, and economic influences. She looks in to how these factors contribute to the formation of societies and communities, creating a cohesive narrative within her practice.

Here are some of the key stages and methodologies she will be taking us through from the initial spark of inspiration to the final design:

Archaeological References and Production Methods:

She’ll take us through the ways in which ancient techniques and artifacts serve as foundational inspirations for contemporary ceramic crafts.

Research Methods and Design Development:

She’ll take us through her unique approach to research and how it informs the design process offering techniques for developing a unique visual language and conceptual framework, drawing from initial research findings.

Crafting the Object:

Moving beyond research to the materialization of ceramic pieces she’ll explore the intricate process of styling and designing - covering aspects such as material selection, color palettes, firing techniques, and presentation aesthetics.
