As many of you know, our beloved studio began as the home and working space of the wonderful Kate Malone, built by her husband, Graham. Its quirks, colours and architectural details are a large part of what makes Culford feel so special.

We are delighted to welcome Kate back as our next guest speaker on 3 September. She will be reflecting on her life and work, her years spent in this building, and where her practice has taken her since.

Kate is one of the UK’s leading ceramic artists, with a career spanning more than 30 years - much of it unfolding within these very walls. Her practice encompasses studio pottery, public art and glaze research, and she has developed an unmistakable style shaped by close observation of the natural world, from fruits and vegetables to nature in the abstract.
