Children’s Online Ceramics Workshop
Culford Studios is committed to providing courses that not only fit every skill level and background, but also infuse our supportive and innovative teaching approach. Check out our current course offerings below.
This workshop will demonstrate how to use the hand-building techniques of pinching and coiling to create a monster mug! Included in the materials box are some coloured slips so the mug can be painted too!
This is an online workshop, meaning we will post you a box of materials (or collect them from our studio), and you can then join a live workshop via Zoom suitable for: ages 5+ (Children up to 10 will need their parents on hand to help)
After the workshop you can post the work back to our studio (or drop it off if you live close by) and we’ll fire it and post it back to you. This means you will be able to use your mug and it will be all shiny!
If you need the materials posted to you then must book this workshop by 30th Jan so we have time to post you the materials. If can collect the materials from our studio you need to order by 4th February, and if you simply need the Zoom link you need to order by the 6th February.
HOW IT WORKS
What you will receive from us:
1 kg clay, 3 x pots of different coloured decorating slips, Hand-building tools
Additional materials you may need at home: Apron, Sponge, Sieve, Small paint brush
Before the workshop you will be emailed the Zoom information. If you could log on 10 minutes before the session start time (10.50am) that would be great as we can say hello and then start bang on 11.
Posting your monster mug:
Return your mug to us in the box provided, but please note, that we cannot take responsibility for breakages so remember that your mug needs to be well wrapped- unfired clay is very fragile!!!
You need to post your work to us by Sunday 21st of February, allow 4 weeks for your work to be sent back to
you. We will be as careful as we can with your creation but cannot take responsibly for any mis-firings as your
work is with the kiln gods.
Local option: You will get an email notification when your work is ready to collect allow 2-3 weeks.
Our workshops are led by our experienced ceramic artists who are CRB checked.
